The House Changed Because The light Stayed On
“...and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.” — Matthew 5:15c
The word giveth matters.
Not because the lamp flashed once. But because it kept burning.
It is said that in the King James Version, the suffix -eth points to continuation. Ongoing action. The light did not stop serving the room after a single moment. It continued pouring outward, quietly benefiting everyone near it.
Fire only produces visible light when heat releases energy powerful enough to push back darkness. That is why Jesus saying, “I am the light of the world” in John 8:12 matters so deeply. We are not the source. He is. Christ within us becomes the flame powerful enough to illuminate what would otherwise remain dark.
And light never shines inward alone. It travels. It reaches. It fills spaces.
Notice the verse says all that are in the house. Not one corner. Not one person. All. When light is positioned instead of hidden, its presence naturally changes the atmosphere around it.
One steady flame changed the atmosphere of the whole house. Imagine what God can do through a life that refuses to stop shining.
